Media Smarts

Media Literacy Week

I was honoured  to be involved with Media Smarts, Manitoba Teachers’ Society and Canadian Teachers’ Federation to bring my views and ideas to the conference. Along side of Meghan Reid, we brought a fun, interactive and hands on workshop focused on Digital Citizenship and Digital Storytelling using social media platforms. I felt very positive leaving the conference as I feel we were able to achieve our goal: provide students with a positive purpose to share their stories in a fun and motivating way!

Livestreaming: Churchill

Working along side with Frontier School Division we were able to bring a professional development to the teachers of Churchill MB. Not only were we able to share our knowledge of technology infusion with these educators, but we were able to reach and collaborate with many other schools who were viewing the live streaming of our session.

EdCamp

This Spring my Classmates and I had the Oppourtunity to host Red River College's first EdCamp. The afternoon was filled with learning and sharing during the Un-Conference Conference. Although there was no set content, sessions were created with "technology infusion" in-mind. We learned the powers of a successful Proferssional Development in the form of an EdCamp where attendees and facilitators play an important role as both educators and learners.
